Genelec has introduced its latest offering, which can be said as revolutionary for the nearfield monitoring system: Ultimate Power Source monitoring with The Ones -the new monitors 8331 and 8341 (combined with the award-winning monitor 8351). The Ones provide a complete compact coaxial range. Although The Ones have the same coaxial driver and design with 8351, these monitors come with much smaller packages. The reason of this fact is to make sure that the previous constraints of coaxial point source set-ups are wiped away.
Genelec The Ones consist of Minimum Diffraction Coaxial (MDC™) driver in order to give the user more freedom over movement, instead of confining them a narrow spot. It is also claimed by Genelic that The Ones deliver precise imaging both on and off-axis with neutral production. This means that the users can make more confident mix decisions. Additionally, Genelic also combined Directivity Control Waveguide (DCW™) to provide less coloured reflection during the mixing.
Both 8331 and 8341 monitors can be oriented and used either vertically or horizontally, by using an adjustable IsoPod base for isolation. This offers the maximum flexibility of positioning and replacing the monitors even in the tightest working spaces. For smaller control rooms, 8331 is more ideal, whilst 8341 is more suitable for the mid-sized control rooms. 8331 has a total power of 144 W (the driver power amps of LF=72W, MF=36W & HF=36W), as 8341 has a total power of 550 W (the driver power amps of LF=72W, MF=36W & HF=36W).
Genelic The Ones are combined with the Acoustically Concealed Woofer (ACW) technology, which provides the best woofer directivity in the market resulting in less reflections from nearby surfaces. This technology also provide the delivery of impressively linear payload over a noticeable wide bandwidth, that results with the phenomenal imaging and clarity of audio during mixing and mastering. Finally, Genelic’s impressive Smart Active Monitor (SAM) technology is combined with The Ones for the optimisation of level, timing and EQ of room response anomalies.
